Books are often issued in several prints – and sometimes also published in several editions. The edition of the book is stated on the title page.
Information about the edition should be included in the bibliography, but you may also add the year of publication of the first edition in [] or (), depending on your referencing style.

The year of publication is stated on the title page of a book or the front page of the journal or anthology in which an article has been published.
Including the year of publication in your references enables your reader to search for the exact same version of the source as you have used.
