ADVICE FROM AN EXPERT

Simone Brendstrup, rhetorician and development consultant at AU

COPING WITH NERVOUSNESS

  1. Think about nervousness as constructive adrenaline
  2. Relax your body - sit down, lie down, stretch
  3. Calm your nervous system through deep breathing
  4. Shift focus from your nervousness to something that puts you more at ease
  5. Forget expectations and do the best you can

ARE YOU PROCRASTINATING?

It happens to even the best. In fact, procrastination is completely natural. So don't beat yourself up if you "get caught". Instead, turn your focus around: Set time aside for procrastination to give your brain a break - and try to get away from your screen.

ARE YOU PUSHING YOURSELF TOO HARD?

Ambition and striving for quality can be good, but perfectionism and its negative consequences can get in the way of your learning.

HOW TO USE AU STUDYPEDIA

Aarhus University has approximately 40,000 students - and just as many different types of students. AU Studypedia has no mission to tell you how to study and it offers no miracle cures. Instead, there are examples of some of the many different ways you can approach student life, and ideas about how you can find out what works well for you.
